Bernard Tomic capped off the ideal Australian Open preparation by beating Mardy Fish in the Kooyong Classic final.
The 19-year-old showed few signs of nerves against the American world number eight, eventually securing a 6-4 3-6 7-5 win.
The win was the highlight of a remarkable week for the youngster, who claimed the scalps of world number seven Tomas Berdych and Frenchman Gael Monfils, ranked 15th in the world, en route to the final.
Tomic started strongly against the 30-year-old, breaking Fish in his opening two serving games to take a 4-0 lead in the first set.
The American fought back, however, but Tomic did enough to take the opener 6-4 in 36 minutes.
Fish was the better man in the second, as Tomic squandered four break-point opportunities on his way to losing it 6-3 in just over half-an-hour.
The third was a high-quality arm-wrestle, but Tomic eventually took it 7-5, wrapping up the win with a sizzling forehand passing shot.
