Rodionova scores upset

Australian Anastasia Rodionova has upset Wimbledon semi-finalist Tsvetana Pironkova to reach the quarter-finals of the Istanbul Cup.
Rodionova beat the Bulgarian fifth seed 6-1 3-6 6-2 in the Turkish capital and will take on Russian Elena Vesnina for a spot in the semis.
Meanwhile, sixth seeded German Andrea Petkovic emerged victorious from a gruelling clash with Russian qualifier Ekaterina Makarova, taking two hours and 52 minutes to finally triumph 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 6-3.
Russia's Vera Dushevina was a 6-3 6-7 (10-8) 6-2 winner over Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia while another Russian, Elena Vesnina, secured a comfortable 6-3 6-2 success over Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland.
