Tournament top seed is on course for a repeat of his 2011 heroics when he defeated Fernando Verdasco 6-3 6-4.
Both players showed no signs of fatigue after playing their quarterfinal matches earlier in the day in front of a centre court crowd who had high expectations after witnessing an epic three-set battle in the other semifinal between Olivier Rochus and Philipp Kohlschreiber.
The tournament top seed showed no signs of fatigue from his earlier match, a three-set battle against Alejandro Falla. He was in complete control, symbolised by not allowing Verdasco a single break point opportunity.
Verdasco couldn't have been more contrasting. He allowed Ferrer 13 opportunities to break his serve, though he saved 10. Three breaks were enough, however, for Ferrer to book his place in the final two, where he will play Rochus.
Ferrer signalled his intentions in the second game of the match when he broke Verdasco before holding the next game for a 3-0 lead.
Long rallies and long deuces saw the match stay on serve for the rest of the set, resulting in the tournament's top seed securing the opener 6-3.
The second set went to serve until Ferrer put the pressure on his compatriot in the fifth game. Verdasco folded, gifting the world No.5 two break points that he took with little resistance.
Ferrer's deep groundstrokes kept Verdasco behind the baseline and allowed the defending champion to mix things up, typified by a delicate drop shot to hold serve at 4-2.
The match remained on serve despite the crowd's encouragement, and Ferrer booked his place in the final with an ace before raising his arms triumphantly.
With just eight unforced errors throughout the match there was no other way to say it: Ferrer is back.
