80:05 - Full Time at Waikato Stadium and the Springboks win the 2009 Tri Nations, fighting off a brilliant late surge from the All Blacks which saw them close to within 3 points. It ends 32 to 29 in Hamilton.
80:02 - Toeava links with Jane as the hooter sounds in Hamilton. Nonu is taken down 15 metres out. A frenzied raid down the left from Carter has a kick across field just fly over the sideline.
79:55 - Rokocoko gets a miracle bounce from another well placed kick from Carter. They will not go down without a fight will the All Blacks. Read has made it over halfway 4 phases in.
79:00 - CONVERSION ALL BLACKS - Carter wastes no time with the conversion and curls it through from out wide. With 60 seconds remaining, the All Blacks trail by 3 points at 32-29!!!
78:08 - TRY ALL BLACKS - Carter shifts play to the right in a quick fluid movement as the Springboks line rush the playmaker. Carter chips, McCaw is left alone and fields it out wide. WHAT A FINISH!
77:44 - McCaw is given a dressing down by Referee Owens as he pleads for play to continue. Harsh words aside, the All Blacks surge into attack with Thomson grounded 14 metres out.
76:46 - A turnover from the Springboks has the All Blacks with the chance that they so desperately crave. A chip kick from Carter is fielded late by F.Steyn who is rolled towards touch.
74:21 - There are now 6 minutes remaining for the All Blacks to salvage a last gasp try. Alas, they'll require more than that as the last penalty from Steyne may have secured the points.
73:27 - de Villiers sweats on another intercept as Carter looks across the line to find Jane. The pass sticks this time as the All Blacks roll towards the line. du Preez looks to tidy up but knocks on.
71:33 - PENALTY GOAL SPRINGBOKS - The ball is struck with majestic swerve and finds the middle of the posts. Springboks have a little breathing room at 32-22 in front.
70:55 - Muliaina is left with it all to do as he scurries back to field du Preez's grubber kick. Habana and de Villiers arrive to trap him deep and Owens in on hand to penalise for not releasing.
69:59 - Toeava is set free by Muliaina. It's a gilt edged chance for the All Blacks to break the line but Toeava's hands desert him as he knocks on after hitting the line.
68:58 - Desperation times call for desperate measures as the All Blacks defence thwarts a mini burst from the Springboks. Carter finds the line as the game clock counts down the last 11 minutes.
66:00 - PENALTY GOAL ALL BLACKS - The ball is steered home and the All Blacks are rampaging home. With under 15 minutes remaining, it's a converted try the difference. It's now 29-22.
65:05 - Cynical play from Botha at the breakdown as he storms in from the side. Carter wastes no time setting up a shot at goal this time. Will he reduce the defecit to 7 points?
63:27 - Rokocoko makes space down the left side and looks to put Sivivatu on his outside. He manages to do so but the contact from Botha has the ball pop out. Knock on.
61:06 - It's All the Blacks at the moment as they continue to push and harass the Springboks pack. Owens plucks out a penalty, Carter turns down the chance to kick for goal. Scrum.
60:44 - Carter is rising to the occasion as he streaks through the line before throwing a flat, forward pass out wide. Carter's filthy at the late treatment he received from F.Steyn.
58:58 - Sivivatu receives out wide from Cowan as the All Blacks are showing urgency and passion in their play. Woodcock wraps around to go to ground 45 metres out. All Blacks on their 6th phase.
57:09 - CONVERSION ALL BLACKS - Carter's radar is working as the extra points are added from tight on the sideline. The defecit is now down to 10 as the scoreline reads 29-19.
56:06 - TRY ALL BLACKS - Carter's decision to not shoot for goal pays dividends. Cowan takes the quick tap, finds McCaw, and McCaw feeds Sivivatu down the right sideline. They're coming.
54:54 - McCaw's fumble takes the All Blacks handling errors count to 8 for the evening. They're under the pump as the two packs converge for the scrum on halfway.
52:53 - CONVERSION SPRINGBOKS - M.Steyn pilots home the extra points and drives the defecit to 17 points. All Blacks need next points as they are behind 29-12.
51:51 - TRY SPRINGBOKS - A hastily constructed line out has Carter firing a ball across the line. de Villiers times his run magnificently and intercepts. He duly sprints clear and scores from 40m out.
50:10 - Pressure at the breakdown results in Nonu wrestling his way downfield, and towards the tryline. He hits Spies in an awkward position and knocks on himself. Unlucky.
49:19 - Thorn is monstered as he takes the ball on the last line of defence for the All Blacks. The shoulder from Botha rattles him to the core and jolts the ball free. Knock on. Springboks feed.
48:11 - Spies knocks on from the resultant scrum and the All Blacks get off the hook inside their own half. They've definitely started the half much brighter.
47:22 - Ndungane places a kick over the top which sees the All Blacks scramble back to gather. Sivivatu sidles over and tries to take on 2 Sprinboks defenders. He loses out. Knock on.
46:14 - Donald makes it to within 22 metres out as the All Blacks surge towards the line. It unfolds for them messily however as Donald loses grip on it. Chance blown.
44:56 - Rokocoko and Habana both compete for the same pinpoint midfield bomb. Habana goes early but Rokocoko has the size and stature to trouble him out of it.
42:47 - Early pressure for the All Blacks as they earn themselves the lineout. It's nicely taken by Kaino but Owens is shaking his head. It's not straight lads.
40:00 - Half Time at Waikato Stadium and despite being behind on the scoreboard, the All Blacks are still within striking distance in this contest, at 22-12. Join us shortly for the 2nd Half..
39:57 - A chance late in the game for the All Blacks as Muliaina breaks down the left side. He's met by Springbok numbers and grubbers towards the in goal. It's too heavy though.
39:39 - A communication breakdown as Carter attacks the line. Rokocoko wants it delivered to him but Carter overcooks a grubber in behind the line and it's easily grounded by Ndungane.
38:54 - Late in the half, Carter makes the call to attack the line. The All Blacks fans appreciate the call as the lineout comes in from Hore. It's short and won by Thorn.
36:46 - Terrific pressure from the All Blacks has du Preez knock on from the ruck. Better ball control there would have been interesting as there was space down the right side for the Springboks.
35:36 - PENALTY GOAL ALL BLACKS - A 4th penalty goal for Carter has the All Blacks bridge the gap yet again as they trail by 22-12. Who will be the next to counter in this arm wrestle?
34:53 - Owens now pings the entire Springbok line for being offside as the lines are cleared. It's a critical call as the All Blacks again point to the goal posts. Carter readies himself..
33:58 - PENALTY GOAL SPRINGBOKS - M.Steyn curls through another 3 points as the Springboks begin to take charge of this game. The lead is a tricky 13 points as it stands at 22-9.
32:37 - Carter is receiving medical treatment as Muliaina watches an energetic grubber kick from du Preez. The 22m drop out is taken by Habana who is shouldered late by Read.
31:03 - F.Steyn is caught napping at the back for the Springboks as Carter clears the lines. It's a messy knock on as the crowd start to get behind their boys.
29:19 - Cowan shifts the ball to McCaw before Franks is released down the right side. The ensuing breakdown has the ball not being released as the Springboks drive the ball into touch.
28:28 - Amazingly, the Springboks have won all 10 of their lineouts tonight. The pressure is there from the All Blacks but South Africa are simply too dominant for them thus far.
27:01 - PENALTY GOAL SPRINGBOKS - Distance doesn't trouble Steyn yet again as he easily clears the crossbar from the best part of 53 metres. Springboks back to a lead of 10 points at 19-9.
25:59 - Donald fails to get full purchase on his clearing kick as the ball ends up in the hands of Habana. 3 phases elapse before Owens penalises the All Blacks in the ruck.
23:33 - Carter finds Nonu down the flanks from the kick off as the All Blacks start to put their foot down. Nonu eventually runs out of room as he's pushed into touch. Good endeavour.
22:22 - PENALTY GOAL ALL BLACKS - Carter threads the eye of the needle and takes his tally of test points to 902. More importantly, the All Blacks close to within 7 points at 16-9 down.
21:58 - From the kick off, Spies is spotted coming in from the side and the All Blacks are awarded a much needed penalty. A chance for Carter to reach 900 Test points perhaps.
20:24 - CONVERSION SPRINGBOKS - M.Steyn hasn't looked like missing thus far tonight as he adds the extras from out wide. The Springboks stretch their lead to 10 points at 16-6.
19:09 - TRY SPRINGBOKS - du Preez ducks and drives and pushes his way over the line in the left corner. The Video Referee takes 2 looks before awarding it.
18:12 - Morne Steyn weaves in behind the line and gets around the heavy frame of McCaw. He puts a kick down the sideline which beats everyone dead. Lucky bounce for the All Blacks.
17:17 - DROP GOAL SPRINGBOKS - Running out of room to the right, M.Steyn pushes his forwards out of the way and steps back onto his right, calmly slotting a drop goal from 18m out.
16:16 - du Preez finds F.Steyn on the outside as the Springboks string together venomous phases on the All Blacks line. Thorn leads early to steal it but comes up empty handed.
15:33 - PENALTY GOAL ALL BLACKS - Carter has two from two as he rams home the penalty goal. Back to back penalties has us tied away at 6-6 in Hamilton.
14:28 - Smit infringes in the scrum and drags it down and Owens is quick to penalise. No surprises as Carter lines up the penalty kick from 15m out in front.
13:49 - Carter is being allowed no room to move by a very professional and clinical Springboks pack thus far tonight. Accuracy with penalties will be key as time off is blown for a water break.
11:48 - Kaino is sent charging through the middle of the Springboks defence, courtesy of a nicely timed short ball from Cowan. Play breaks down on the right side as the ball is lost backwards.
10:01 - PENALTY GOAL SPRINGBOKS - Steyn has his kicking boots packed tonight as he steers home another monster shot from 58 metres out. South Africa now lead 6-3 after 10 minutes.
08:35 - Donald neglects to release as the Springboks turn the ball to theirn advantage from halfway. Steyn fancies himself from 58 metres out and signals his intent. He lines up the shot.
07:47 - A superb pushing drive from the All Blacks manages to turn the Springboks scrum 40m out. Carter heads wide to find Cowan lurking with intent. All Blacks building nicely.
06:58 - Carter injects himself into the contest as he hoists a towering bomb in the air from outside his own 20. Steyne takes no chances returning the kick with interest.
05:08 - PENALTY GOAL SPRINGBOKS - An absolute pearler of a penalty kick from Steyne as he thumps the ball over the black dot from the best part of 61 metres out. It's locked up at 3-3.
03:47 - Owens is asserting himself in the contest early as he blows consecutive penalties. This one is against the Sivivatu fails to clear himself of the ruck. Steyn points goalwards.
02:59 - A terrific chance for the Springboks to open their account as they build steadily towards the All Blacks line. Steyne holds the ball in and Owens is all over it. Penalty.
