The New York Rangers remain on top of the NHL's Eastern Conference after a 3-2 overtime win against the Boston Bruins on Saturday.
The hotly anticipated encounter saw Boston - top of the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference - host the Rangers, who top the Atlantic Division.
The winner would have moved to the outright lead of the Eastern Conference, but the Rangers remained in front with a gutsy 3-2 road win at TD Garden in Boston.
After a goalless first period, all the action took place in the second as both sides scored twice.
Goals from Ryan Callahan and Marian Gaborik for the visitors were quickly countered by Boston and, after neither side scored in the third period, the match was destined for overtime.
The Rangers had a one-man advantage for five minutes when Boston's Andrew Ference shoved opponent Ryan McDonagh into the end wall in the early stages of overtime.
And with the numerical advantage, the Rangers scored the winner as Gaborik silenced the home fans.
The Detroit Red Wings also won a thriller, toppling the Colombus Jackets 3-2 in a shootout to continue their dominance of the Western Conference.
After Nicklas Lidstrom's equaliser forced overtime, no goals were scored, meaning a shootout was needed.
The first six attempts of the shootout failed to result in a goal, before Detroit's Valtteri Flippula broke the deadlock and Ryan Johansen's attempt just after was saved, giving the Red Wings a dramatic win.
In other matches, the Philadelphia Flyers beat the New Jersey Devils 4-1, while the Vancouver Canucks also scored four in their defeat of the San Jose Sharks 4-3.
The Anaheim Ducks and New York Islanders recorded 2-1 wins over the Ottawa Senators and the Carolina Panthers respectively, and the Florida Panthers toppled the Winnipeg Jets 4-3.
It was a score the Tampa Bay Lightning emulated in their defeat of the Phoenix Coyotes.
Comfortable 5-2 wins were claimed by the Minnesota Wild and the Nashville Predators against the Dallas Stars and the Chicago Blackhawks respectively, while the Calgary Flames went one better in their thrashing of the Edmonton Oilers 6-2.
The St Louis Blues came from behind to beat the Buffalo Sabres 4-2, the Montreal Canadiens were 3-1 winners against the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Los Angeles Kings by the same scoreline.
