WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is eager to fight Floyd Mayweather, but doubts remain over the likelihood of a May 5 showdown.
Mayweather called on Filipino star Pacquiao to fight via social networking site Twitter earlier this week, posting: "Manny Pacquiao I'm calling you out let's fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see."
Undefeated American Mayweather is available to fight in May at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas after a judge postponed his jail sentence in a domestic assualt case until June.
And Pacquiao is eager for to give boxing fans the dream fight that they crave, but raised concerns about Mayweather's ability to secure a set fee for the bout.
"I want to fight him," Pacquiao told reporters. "This is the fight the world wants.
"Mayweather wants a guaranteed purse so what he has to do is get a promoter who can give him that guarantee.
"I don't have problems getting a guarantee because I have a promoter who will give me my guaranteed purse."
Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, said should the Mayweather fight fall through, he may yet organise re-matches with Juan Manuel Marquez or Miguel Cotto.
