Reigning world champion Carlo Janka claimed the Olympic giant-slalom title for Switzerland and Ashley McIvor bagged a sixth gold of the Games for Canada on day 12 of the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Bode Miller saw his hopes of becoming the first male skier to win four medals at the same Games end with disqualification in the first run of the giant slalom.
Leading by a slim 0.02 seconds after the first run, Janka extended his advantage to a winning margin of 0.39secs over Norwegian silver medallist Kjetil Jansrud, whose blistering second run lifted him from 11th.
Jansrud's team-mate Aksel Svindal earned bronze and his third medal of the Games after taking gold in the Super-G and silver in the downhill.
Austria's Romed Baumann, second after the first run, slipped out of the reckoning to fifth.

It cost world record holder Kramer a second gold of the Games.
Kramer posted an Olympic record time of 12 minutes 54.50 seconds but could only hold his head in his hands after his costly mistake.

The silver went to Ivan Skobrev in 13:02.07 with Dutchman Bob de Jong claiming the bronze in 13:06.73.
"I wanted to go on the outer lane then just before the cone Gerard (Kemkers) shouted 'inner lane'. I thought 'he's probably right' and went to the inner lane," Kramer said.
"You have to decide in a split second. I should have gone with my own thoughts but I was brought into doubt. This is a real expensive mistake."
