Despite a doping appeal still hanging over him, Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador is eyeing a place at next year's Olympic Games in London.
The three-time Tour de France winner is fighting a bid to impose a doping ban against him and is awaiting the verdict from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The Spanish Cycling Federation had initially cleared Contador of any wrongdoing after traces of clenbuterol were found in his urine samples during the 2010 Tour.
But the International Cycling Union and the World Anti-Doping Agency filed appeals to CAS.
The CAS decision is expected in the New Year, but despite the possibility of him being banned, Contador has not ruled out featuring in the road race at the July-August London Games.
"Why not try this new challenge in London?" Contador said.
"It sounds interesting ... if the possibility is there, I will give it a try."
Contador maintained his long-term goal was to win the 2012 Tour de France.
"I know it is very difficult ... but I will work very hard for this," he said.
Contador is currently with his Saxo Bank team-mates at a team-building camp in Israel.
