The Boston Bruins ended November undefeated in regulation after beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3 during Wednesday's NHL action.
Stanley Cup winners last season, the Bruins moved first in the Eastern Conference Northeast Division after returning triumphant from their visit north of the border.
It was hosts Toronto who took the lead at the Air Canada Centre, through a power-play goal from Mikhail Grabovski.
Milan Lucic levelled for Boston late in the first period with a power-play wrist shot.
David Krejci and Zdeno Chara were on target for the visitors in the second period, either side of Joffrey Lupul's goal for Toronto, with the Bruins heading into the final period 3-2 ahead.
Benoit Pouliot extended Boston's advantage when he scored four minutes into the third.
Matt Frattin got Toronto back to within one goal for the final time, before Lucic's second and Brad Marchand's goal put the outcome beyond doubt.
The Bruins finish November with 12 victories and just one shootout defeat from 13 matches played.
It is the first time they have gone undefeated during regulation throughout a month since January 1969.
And it came as a something of a surprise after they lost seven and won just three of 10 matches played in October.
"We knew we didn't have our best start to the season," Bruins captain Zdeno Chara said.
"We kind of dug ourselves into a hole and we wanted to climb out of it and have a better record."
"We're focusing one game at a time, and that's what we did this month and tried to win every game."
Also on Wednesday, the Detroit Red Wings recorded their sixth consecutive victory, beating the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2.
The Red Wings let a two-goal lead slip back to 2-2 going into the final period, but a power-play goal from Tomas Holmstrom and Darren Helm's wrist shot sealed the contest in Detroit's favour.
The Colorado Avalanche scored three times in the first period and three times in the third as they thrashed the visiting New Jersey Devils 6-1.
The Anaheim Ducks came from a goal down to run out 4-1 winners at home to the Montreal Canadiens.
And the Minnesota Wild won a shootout to beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 away from home.
