Red Bull's Mark Webber broke through for his maiden race win on the Formula One circuit in 2011 at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The Australian capitalised on team-mate Sebastian Vettel's gearbox issues to claim his first race victory since winning in Hungary last year, finishing the season-ending 71-lap race at Interlagos in a time of one hour, 32 minutes and 17.434 seconds.
The day belonged to the Milton Keynes-based team, as Webber and Vettel (+16.9 seconds) completed a one-two finish, with McLaren's Jenson Button (+27.6s) ending his season on a high with his eighth podium in the past nine races.
Button fought his way past Ferrari's Fernando Alonso (+35.0s) to ensure he finished second in the overall drivers' standings in 2011 behind champion Vettel.
Alonso's team-mate Felipe Massa (+1:06.7) was fifth, by virtue of Lewis Hamilton's retirement, as the pair had looked set to battle for the finishing place before the Briton pulled out of the race with 25 laps remaining due to a gearbox failure.
Force India's Adrian Sutil was sixth - more than a lap behind Webber - ahead of Mercedes' Nico Rosberg and Force team-mate Paul di Resta.
Sauber's Kamui Kobayashi and Renault's Vitaly Petrov rounded out the top 10 in the season finale.
Vettel finished the season with 392 points in the drivers' championship, well clear of Button (270 points) and Webber (258).
Alonso was fourth, just one point behind Webber, followed by Hamilton (227), Massa (118) and Rosberg (89).
