Massa fastest in second practice

Ferrari's Felipe Massa was fastest in the second practice session for Sunday's inaugural Indian Formula One Grand Prix.

But the second session was overshadowed by news that McLaren's Lewis Hamilton - fastest in Friday's first session - had been handed a penalty of three grid places for ignoring caution flags in his run.

Sauber's Sergio Perez was handed a similar punishment for ignoring the yellow flags, which came out close to the end of first practice, and McLaren managing director Jonathan Neale described Hamilton's penalty as 'fair'.

Massa was fastest in the afternoon run, clocking a time of 1 minute 25.706 seconds round the Buddh International Circuit, to edge world champion Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel, who posted 1:25.794.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso was third fastest - after managing only four laps with engine trouble in the morning session - in 1:25.930, with Hamilton shrugging off his grid penalty to finish fourth fastest in a time of 1:26.454.

Red Bull's Mark Webber completed the top five in 1:26.500.

McLaren's Jenson Button was sixth fastest, with Force India's Adrian Sutil next best ahead of Renault's Bruno Senna, Paul di Resta in the Force India, and Torro Rosso's Sebastien Buemi rounded out the top 10.
