Titans v Warriors snippets
Star Man
Warriors hooker Nathan Fien took full advantage of his forwards' inspired charges after the break with some quality darts out of dummy-half. He produced a short ball to put big Sam Rapira over just after the break then handed a ball off to Grant Rovelli, who set up the freakish McKinnon try. Fien's kicking game was also spot-on.
Absolute Shocker
Titans fullback Preston Campbell struggled in his second match back from a knee injury suffered in the City-Country match earlier in the season. The former Panthers premiership player looked all at sea under the high ball and was ineffective at the kick-return, finishing with a paltry 20m in attack for the match.
In Trouble?
Mat Rogers' 15th minute high shot on Warriors second-rower Louis Anderson may see the former Wallaby come under the scrutiny of the match review committee on Monday after the collision left the Kiwi Test forward reeling with a broken nose. Rogers does not have any carryover points, but he could still be in doubt for next Friday night's blockbuster local derby with the Broncos if the powers-that-be decide to take the matter further.
Play of the Day
The Titans have been a refreshing addition to the NRL this season and it's their off-the-cuff style that has been most impressive. They were at it again in the 29th minute when skipper Scott Prince surprised the defence with well-executed chip over the top 65m out for Rogers to collect and carry down field. Unfortunately this exciting passage of play ended with hooker Nathan Friend falling a metre short of scoring, but it brought every one of the 17,608-strong crowd to its feet.
