Pettybourne faces ban

South Sydney's faint finals hopes have suffered another blow with hard-running back-rower Eddie Pettybourne set to miss Friday night's vital NRL clash with the equally desperate Parramatta.
Pettybourne faces a week on the sidelines after he was charges with a careless high tackle by the match review committee on Monday.
The Rabbitohs big man has a bad recent record at the judiciary, with carry over points meaning he will have to prove his innocence if he hopes to play against the Eels.
An early guilty plea will see Pettybourne miss Friday night's encounter which South Sydney must win to have any chance of figuring in the finals.
Pettybourne's absence would be a big blow with John Sutton, Dave Taylor and Luke Stuart all missing through injury.
In other judiciary news St George Illawarra prop Neville Costigan will escape penalty after he was charged with the same grade one offence.
Melbourne's Billy Slater was the only other player charged by the match review committee - also for a low grade careless high tackle - but despite carry over points will be free to tackle the Wests Tigers on Sunday if he takes the early guilty plea.
