Broncos re-sign five

01/18/2012 01:54:31 AM

The future of the Brisbane Broncos on the field looks like being a bright one with the club announcing five of their young stars have pledged their future to the club on Wednesday.

Test winger Jharal Yow Yeh, New Zealand international Alex Glenn, forwards Andrew McCullough and David Hala and young half Ben Hunt have all signed new deals at Red Hill.

Yow Yeh, who enjoyed a brilliant 2011 season which included Test and Origin debuts, has signed a three-year extension keeping him at the Broncos until the end of 2015, alongside Glenn and McCullough.

Hala will stay with the club until the end of the 2014 season while Hunt has signed a one-year extension of his current contract.

"We are very happy to be able to sign these players who have developed through our system from juniors to second-tier players to NRL standard, and onto Test honours already in a couple of cases," Broncos coach Antony Griffin said.

"The club has worked hard to give these guys the opportunity to play NRL football and they have proven their ability to compete in the best rugby league competition in the world."

"It is also very pleasing for us that they have shown some faith in the club and where it is going by re-signing such significant extensions to their contracts."

Broncos chief executive Paul White added: "We live in a professional world in the NRL but it is wonderful when you can make announcements like this that reflect loyalty to the club."

"These players are a large part of the core of the talent we have developed, and that we believe will take us into the next chapter of success for the Broncos."

"They are fine young men and we are extremely pleased they have chosen to further commit their futures to the club."
