Woods, Rock share lead

Woods, Rock share Abu Dhabi lead

01/28/2012 06:20:07 PM

Former world number one Tiger Woods moved to the top of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship leaderboard on Saturday, tied with Robert Rock.

American Woods and Englishman Rock both shot six-under 66 in their respective third rounds to finish 'moving day' on 11-under par, two clear of the chasing pack at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

Woods - who snapped a two-year title drought in November last year - is eyeing a 39th European Tour title on Sunday, after he went bogey-free in his third round while hitting six birdies.

Rock had one blotch on his card on Saturday - a bogey on 16 - but he finished strongly with back-to-back birdies to heap the pressure on Woods heading into the final 18 holes.

Rock, 34, is aiming for two top-10 finishes this month in a positive start to the year, after his ninth-place finish at the Joburg Open in South Africa.

A group of four are two shots off the pace on nine under, including Swede Peter Hanson, Italian Francesco Molinari, Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy and Scot Paul Lawrie.

Overnight leader Thorbjorn Olesen is one of four tied for seventh on eight under, joined by France's Jean-Baptiste Gonnet and South Africans George Coetzee and James Kingston.

Lurking in equal-11th is 2010 US Open winner Graeme McDowell, Italian teenager Matteo Manassero, Welshman Jamie Donaldson and Dane Thomas Bjorn.
