The first cheque as an official member of the PGA Tour is on its way for New Zealander Danny Lee after he made the cut at the weather-affected Humana Challenge in California.
Lee had to return on Sunday (US time) to complete his third round due to strong winds and sand storms at all three courses that play host to the tournament.
The 21-year-old had nine holes to go and was two-under for his round, eight-under for the tournament and well inside the projected cut line.
He birdied the 16th, gave one away at the next hole but nervelessly picked up another shot on the 18th to sign for a three-under 69 and easily qualify for the last two rounds at nine-under.
The cut was made at six-under.
Lee's hallmark in the past has never been his strong point but with three consecutive rounds of 69, it has been this week.
His score was good enough for a share of 36th, well behind Mark Wilson at 21-under and three ahead of fellow Americans Zach Johnson, Robert Garrigus, Ben Crane and Brandt Snedeker.
The hot hand on the course on Sunday was undoubtedly Garrigus, who threatened the magic number of 59 before eventually signing for an 11-under 61.
His blemish-free round saw him sink 11 birdies including five in a row from the 13th to the 17th, hit all but one green, average 335 metres off the tee and featured only 25 putts.
Wilson added a 67 to earlier rounds of 66 and 62 while Crane fell off the pace with a disappointing 70 where he hit only 43 percent of the fairways.
