Australian Nick Flanagan has narrowly missed out on winning the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational at Ohio State University, carding a 1-under 70 in the fourth round to finish tied for third with countryman Won Joon Lee.
Flanagan held a one-stroke lead heading into the fourth round but was unable to keep up with a rampant D.J. Brigman on a damp Scarlet Course. The American finished strongly from 11th place on the leaderboard, firing a 7-under 64 to reach 10-under par for a one-stroke victory.
Flanagan bogeyed three times in the front nine to slip behind Brigman and rookie Jamie Lovemark, finishing with an 8-under 276 to tie with Lee, David Mathis and Daniel Summerhays.
Lee hit six birdies in the first 13 holes to get to seven-under in the third round, sharing second-place with fellow Australian Alistair Presnell, but slipped to equal third on the back of a bogey on the 15th hole.
Presnell tumbled down the leaderboard after three bogeys in the first five holes, finishing with a 4-under 280 for a share of 12th place.
