Totti considers Italy return

Totti considers Italy return

01/24/2012 12:55:05 AM

Roma striker Francesco Totti has taken a positive stance about playing for Italy again.

Azzurri coach Cesare Prandelli revealed on Sunday that the 35-year-old attacker would be 'under consideration' for a place in the Euro 2012 squad if he stayed fit until the end of the season.

"The national team? Never say never," Totti told ANSA.

"Let us see how I am doing in May."

"I am really glad that Prandelli is still considering me, because I have a great relationship with him."

"I have been told great things about him as a coach and he has done great things with the national team."

Totti has not featured for Italy since the national team's triumph at the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany.

The forward recently surpassed AC Milan legend Gunnar Nordahl's record for goals with a single club in Serie A, scoring his 211th during the 5-1 win over Cesena.

EPL-The Final Day

What a day it was; Manchester City had the title, then lost it, then had it again. Bolton were safe, then just as quickly they were gone. Arsenal secured their place in next season's Champions League, while fourth-placed Tottenham must wait until Sunday morning to see whether they will join them or not.
