No matter the new makeup of North Queensland defence against the Melbourne Heart this weekend, Fury goalkeeper Justin Pasfield will be feeling as safe as ever.
Eric Akoto's return from his one-match ban has seen the Togolese international reclaim his spot ahead of Brett Studman.
But injury to Chris Grossman, suspected to be out of commission for two weeks with a slight teat his right quadricep, means North Queensland's defence will again take on a new look.
The spot at left back remains up for grabs between teenager Jack Hingert and Brad McDonald, with both players receiving a glowing endorsement from the shot-stopper.
"I thought every one of those defenders that stood up for us last week (Studman, Hingert and McDonald) were great for us," Pasfield said.
"Jack really was a outstanding, playing on one of the most gifted right sided attackers in the league, Mathew Leckie, I thought he matched him perfectly."
"The battle for positions at the back has been high all season. So when injury or suspensions come up, we have guys that can do the job."
It's not who is thrown into defence that Pasfield is concerned with, it's the challenge the team collectively faces against a Heart outfit reeling from a last-gasp equaliser against Perth last week.
"I'm sure Melbourne will be using that as motivation, to have a win taken away in the final minute would make you pretty determined," Pasfield said.
"They are going to come out at us firing, we just have to be ready for that."
As for the Fury's own frame of mind, Pasfield is adamant it is no different to any other stage this season despite coming off their first loss of the campaign.
"Spirit wasn't a problem (last week) and I don't think it will ever be," he said.
"Obvious the result we copped is not what we wanted, but we returned to training this week focusing on the positives and have worked all week on fixing those parts of the game where we were lackadaisical."
