The A-League's goalkeeping merry-go-round has seen Melbourne stopper Glen Moss join Gold Coast United.
On a day where Jess Vanstratten opted for a move to Central Coast, United moved on Moss, who has been with Melbourne for 12 months.
He was initially the club's No.1 goalkeeper, but lost that spot to Mitch Langerak halfway through the season. While Langerak has left the club for Germany, Victory recently signed Socceroos stopper Michael Petkovic, meaning Moss would once again be in for a fight for a starting position.
The New Zealand international, who had his World Cup dream all but ruined by suspension, has opted for a move north in a bid to play first-team football.
"I'm sad to be leaving Melbourne but the prospect of first-team football and re-uniting with my family who now live in Queensland was obviously very appealing," Moss said.
"As a goalkeeper you really have to be playing week in, week out, and I feel I have a better chance of playing regular football up north."
"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time in Melbourne and made some terrific friends along the way. We're parting on good terms and I wish the guys the best of luck for the season ahead."
Melbourne coach Ernie Merrick said Moss had left a considerable impression on the club, but Victory did not want to stand in his road.
"Glen's been a good player for us and a great person to have around the club, but unfortunately things didn't quite work out for him here in Melbourne," he said.
"He's a high-quality 'keeper, and barring suspension would've been in goal for New Zealand at the recent World Cup, so there's no doubting his ability and I'm sure he'll make his mark in the A-League."
