FIFA sees stadiums

The FIFA delegation currently touring Australia as part of the bid for the 2022 FIFA World Cup was given a unique look at all 10 host cities and 12 stadiums on Wednesday.

Delegates present at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre caught a glimpse of all cities, regions and stadiums that are part of Football Federation Australia's bid.

Large colour images of the cities and stadiums were viewable whilerepresentatives from all states and territories involved presented a brief to the delegates.

The travelling party also took a quick visit to Sydney Wildlife World at Darling Harbour having their picture taken with koalas, crocodiles, kangaroos and other wildlife species unique to Australia.

Earlier they were treated to a presentation about Asia's commercial power and the role Australia has to play.

The inspection team, consisting of six delegates, is visiting Australia as part of a nine-country tour concerning nations bidding to host the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup.

At the conclusion of the three-day visit in Australia, the delegation will submit an objective report to FIFA in preparation for the announcement of the 2018 and 2022 hosts, will be announced later this year on December 2 in Zurich.

The 10 host cities part of the FFA's bid would see FIFA World Cup matches in six states and territories. New stadiums in Perth, Canberra and Blacktown in addition to nine other stadium upgrades would come to fruition if Australia's bid is to be successful.
