Ciani gives Bordeaux win

Mickael Ciani scored in injury time to give Bordeaux their first win of the Ligue 1 season via a 2-1 defeat of Paris Saint Germain on Sunday.

Alou Diarra gave Bordeaux the lead in Paris after 67 minutes, only for Guillaume Hoarau to equalise for PSG nine minutes later.

With the match seemingly headed for draw, Bordeaux centre-back Ciani scored the winner deep into injury time to give the 2008-09 champions some respite following back-to-back 1-0 losses.

Earlier, newly-promoted Caen continued its unbeaten start in the top flight with a 0-0 draw away at Montpellier.

Caen produced upset victories over powerhouses Lyon and Marseille in their first two games of the season, but couldn't find a goal to make it three in a row.

Montpellier were on the front foot for most of the match, unlucky not to go ahead in the first half when Marco Estrada's free kick led to a goal mouth scramble.

Souleymane Camara and Olivier Giroud both had good chances for the home side but couldn't find the crucial goal, with Caen nearly snatching a late winner through Sambou Yatabare.

Caen remain second on the Ligue 1 table behind surprise leaders Toulouse.

Elsewhere, Sochaux hosted Lille and the match also ended in scoreless draw. Despite dominating posession and having the best chances of the match, Lille couldn't break the deadlock and remain without a win this season.

EPL-The Final Day
14/05/2012 4:41:36 PM
What a day it was; Manchester City had the title, then lost it, then had it again. Bolton were safe, then just as quickly they were gone. Arsenal secured their place in next season's Champions League, while fourth-placed Tottenham must wait until Sunday morning to see whether they will join them or not.
