Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has played down speculation linking England left-back Ashley Cole with a move away from Stamford Bridge and insists the club has no plans to bid for Liverpool frontman Fernando Torres.

Cole is reportedly on the radar of Real Madrid since the appointment of former Blues boss Jose Mourinho to the Bernabeu hotseat, but Ancelotti has no plans to let the 29-year-old leave.

Speaking after his team's 1-0 friendly win at Crystal Palace, the 51-year-old told www.chelseafc.com: "I didn't speak with him."

"I don't need to speak with him and he doesn't need to speak to me. He is a player of Chelsea, did a fantastic season for us and will be an important player for us next season - 100 percent."

On reports linking World Cup-winning Spain forward Torres with a move to the Premier League champions, the Italian added: "I don't think we need other strikers - nothing has changed because in the next days come back (Didier) Drogba, (Nicolas) Anelka and (Salomon) Kalou and we have (Daniel) Sturridge."

EPL-The Final Day

What a day it was; Manchester City had the title, then lost it, then had it again. Bolton were safe, then just as quickly they were gone. Arsenal secured their place in next season's Champions League, while fourth-placed Tottenham must wait until Sunday morning to see whether they will join them or not.
