AEK beats Rovers in wet

ball through the heart of the Blackburn defence for Burns but the Rovers No.1 was quickly out to save.

Both sides lost their way in the second half as both managers made a raft of substitutions but the Greeks should have extended their lead 11 minutes from the end only for Lyberopoulos to push his shot wide with just Robinson to beat.

That miss was compounded just three minutes later when Rovers pulled one back with almost their first shot on target. The AEK defence went to sleep at a free kick and allowed substitute Morten Gamst Pedersen to float in a cross that was headed home by Jones.

But despite some nervy moments late on, the Greeks held on for a much deserved win.
