Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor is rumoured to be close to signing for Serie A giant Juventus on a season-long-loan.
The Togolese international scored 14 goals in 26 appearances for City this year but as manager Roberto Mancini attempts to fit his squad into the 25-man cap set by the Premier League, Adebayor looks likely to move.
With Mario Balotelli's long-awaited move from Inter to City set to be finalised soon, Mancini feels he has enough strikers and can afford to let Adebayor leave on loan.
Juventus has reportedly shown strong interest in landing Adebayor after losing interest in Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko after the Bundesliga club valued him at 33 million pounds.
Reports suggest City want between one and two million pounds from Juventus for the season-long deal and will make Adebayor available for 17 million pounds at the conclusion of the loan.
While Adebayor's salary is viewed as excessive by some, Juventus is likely to pay what is required to land the striker given the fact the fee to make him a Juve player for the upcoming season is minimal.
Several other players including midfielder Stephen Ireland and striker Craig Bellamy are expected to leave City in the coming weeks as Mancini looks to trim his squad to 25.
Ireland, 23, is attracting interest from fellow Premier League sides Sunderland and Aston Villa and looks certain to leave following City's purchase of David Silva and Yaya Toure and interest in James Milner.
Valued at 10 million pounds by the club, Ireland could end up at Villa as part of a deal which brings Milner to Eastlands.
But Mancini insists he hasn't made up his mind on Ireland's future.
"I have not decided anything about Stephen Ireland. There has been no problem with him on the tour. I don't know how it's possible for him to think anything other than that he has a chance of a future here because I haven't decided," he said.
When discussing Bellamy, Mancini said he was 'not sure' if the Welsh striker would make his list of 25 players.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp is a keen admirer of Bellamy's talents and is said to be putting a seven-million-pound bid together to secure his services.
