Birmingham staged an impressive comeback for the second game in a row as they beat Blackburn 2-1 thanks to Craig Gardner's double at St Andrews.
After an uneventful first half, Morten Gamst Pedersen's penalty was superbly saved by Ben Foster four minutes after the restart. But Blackburn took the lead four minutes later through Steven N'Zonzi.
But Gardner hit two goals in 14 minutes to secure all three points for Alex McLeish's side, a week after they fought from 2-0 down to salvage a draw at Sunderland.
Matt Derbyshire came off the bench for his Birmingham debut and McLeish handed a first start to Nikola Zigic, who impressed from the bench against Sunderland last weekend.
The summer signing from Valencia started alongside Cameron Jerome and the Englishman forced Paul Robinson into a save within the first minute.
That early effort was not a sign of things to come. Although the game's early exchanges were open, there were few chances of note.
Blackburn's Nikola Kalinic nodded an effort just wide after 13 minutes then Christopher Samba tested Foster with a glancing front-post header. At the other end, Scott Dann forced a superb reflex save from Paul Robinson with a powerful header.
After a quiet first half, Blackburn spurned a golden opportunity to take the lead within four minutes of the restart.
Zigic brought down Samba inside the area and referee Michael Oliver, on his Premier League debut, awarded the penalty. However, Foster somehow tipped Pedersen's ferocious spot-kick onto the crossbar.
But Blackburn didn't wait much longer to break the deadlock as, in the 54th minute, Pedersen made amends for his miss by delivering to N'Zonzi who planted a header beyond Foster.
But the lead would only last three minutes as Gardner turned home James McFadden's delicious volleyed cross.
Kalinic should have restored Blackburn's lead just past the hour mark but he could only nod Pedersen's cross against the post from close range.
Having brought his side back on terms, Gardner then edged Birmingham ahead with a low 30-yard strike which Robinson should have saved.
Blackburn threw everything, including Samba, forward in search of an equaliser. But Birmingham were able to cling on for three points.
