A new broom has swept through the New Zealand squads for short-form cricket with the announcement of One-Day and Twenty20 squads on Saturday.
Into the ODI squad come Auckland left-arm medium-fast bowler Michael Bates, Canterbury medium-fast bowler Andrew Ellis, Canterbury batsman Tom Latham and Central Districts leg-spinner Tarun Nethula.
Into the Twenty20 side are Bates, Auckland batsman Colin de Grandhomme and Auckland left-arm spinner Ronnie Hira.
Gone from the sides are: Luke Woodcock, Graeme Aldridge, Andy McKay and BJ Watling while there was no place for left-arm medium-fast Test bowler Trent Boult.
Form from the domestic HRV Cup was a factor in the selections which were also made with an eye towards the 2015 World Cup.
The One-Day International squad is: Brendon McCullum (captain), Michael Bates, Doug Bracewell, Dean Brownlie, Andrew Ellis, Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Nathan McCullum, Kyle Mills, Tarun Nethula, Rob Nicol, Jacob Oram, Tim Southee, Kane Williamson.
