Melbourne Stars paceman Clint McKay says his team are yet to put together a complete performance after booking a Twenty20 Big Bash League semi-final spot.
The Stars overcame the Adelaide Strikers by six wickets in their clash at the MCG on Thursday, ensuring a spot in the top four and a meeting with the Perth Scorchers.
McKay, who took 3-17 to reduce the Strikers to all out 125, said there was still room for improvement in the Stars.
"We keep talking about the perfect game and that sort of stuff and I still don't think we have (put one together)," the Victorian said.
"There have been games where we've bowled really well and games where we've batted really well. We've never gelled together. Hopefully that comes on Saturday."
"We know we've got a very good side on paper but on paper doesn't mean too much as long as you don't go out and performance to your best."
"We're very confident in the skills we've got and the team we've got lined up from day dot so next test is the big one isn't it?"
Led by David Hussey's 41, the Stars reached their target with seven balls to spare after they had been reduced to 3-38.
McKay, 28, has played 15 ODIs for Australia and he has not given up on earning his first international spot since November 2010.
"You just never know do you? All I can do is just keep bowling well and hopefully taking wickets and winning games of cricket for the Melbourne Stars or the Victorian Bushrangers," he said.
"Obviously that's a big goal of mine and I want to do anything I can to make that work. (I'll) just do what I can control and that's bowling well."
"Hopefully that comes again one day, if not, I won't leave any stone unturned to do it."
