Melbourne Renegades batsman Aaron Finch admits his team have failed in pressure situations during this Twenty20 Big Bash League season.
The Renegades' season came to an end with a seven-wicket loss against the Hobart Hurricanes on Wednesday, despite once again being in a strong position.
Leg-spinner Shahid Afridi bowled a wide with the Hurricanes needing one run off the last ball, handing them victory in their chase of 174.
Finch, who smashed 67, said his side had struggled under pressure throughout the season.
"If you look at all our games, bar our opening game against Adelaide, we've been in a position to win every single one of them," he said after the loss.
"But we just go to water when the pinch is on unfortunately. I don't know why, I don't know what's gone wrong, but it's something that we'll have to address for next year."
Finch and Brad Hodge (63) combined for a 126-run opening stand, but the Renegades failed to take advantage and could only set the Hurricanes 174 for victory.
Jonathan Wells (72) and Owais Shah (unbeaten 49) ensured their side booked a home semi-final with the win.
Afridi conceded 10 runs in the final over, but Finch said he was the right man to bowl in the pressure situation.
"He's done it time and time again. He's a world class performer - even they have bad days. As you saw today, he didn't bowl as well as he has in the past. Unfortunately we just let it slip again," Finch said.
"We had a real chance to dent a few egos there in the Hurricanes camp and really get them questioning themselves after three losses going into the finals."
"But I think, after a win like that, they go in with a lot of momentum."
The Hurricanes, who won after losing consecutive games, will meet the Sydney Sixers in the semi-finals.
