England crush Pakistan

England have cruised to a six-wicket victory over Pakistan in the second match of their Twenty20 series in Cardiff to take a 2-0 series win.

The victory also equalled the international T20 record of seven consecutive wins in the limited over format.

Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi won the toss and elected to bat first but things got off to a bad start for the beleaguered visitors when Kamran Akmal was out in the second over for 11 after misplaying a hook shot.

Mohammad Yousuf was out for just four before Umar Akmal hit a couple of big sixes off the bowling of Graeme Swann, but Pakistan looked like a team struggling with the controversy of the last 10 days.

Tim Bresnan took three wickets for just ten runs while Ryan Sidebottom, Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann took two apiece in bowling out Pakistan for 89, their lowest ever T20 score.

England took just 14 overs to reach the paltry target, with Paul Collingwood making 21 and Eoin Morgan 18.

The sides will play the first of five 50-over one day international matches in Durham on Friday.
