Australia overcame a wobble with the bat to beat Bangladesh by 27 runs in Barbados to secure a spot in the Super Eights and knock the Tigers out of the ICC World Twenty20.
Having beaten Pakistan, which also goes through to the next round from Group A, Michael Clarke's side showed its fighting qualities to make it two wins from two in the Caribbean.
At 65-6 a shock looked on the cards, but Michael Hussey, who made 47 not out, and Steven Smith (27) rescued the innings.
In the end a total of 141-7 was more than enough, Bangladesh never recovering from 4-15 as it was bowled out for 114.
Dirk Nannes was the pick of the Australian attack with 4-18, while opening partner Shaun Tait ended up with 1-15 from his four overs.
The two speedsters simply blew their opponents away in the powerplay overs.
Tait set the tone with an explosive opening over that ended with the wicket of Imrul Kayes. He then took a good low catch down at third man just three balls later to send Mohammad Ashraful on his way without troubling the scorers.
Nannes, who played for Holland in last year's tournament, followed up by getting two wickets in his second over - Aftab Ahmed (one) and Mahmudullah (two) his victims - before returning at the death to dismiss Jahurul Islam for 18.
After such a disastrous start, Shakib Al Hasan (28) and Mushfiqur Rahim (24) did their best to repair the damage with a fifth-wicket stand of 48.
However Bangladesh fell well short in the end, leaving it to look back on its inability to ram home its advantage with the ball earlier on.
Some injudicious shot selection saw Australia slip to 65-6 before Hussey and Smith steadied the ship with a crucial partnership worth 74.
Batting at seven, Hussey measured his innings to perfection. After ticking over with singles he cut loose at the death, slamming a six off Mashrafe Mortaza (2-28) in a 17th over which ended up yielding 17 runs.
Smith joined in on the act with a pair of maximums in the penultimate over bowled by Abdul Razzak before being run out trying to sneak a bye.
