Overruled! NRL bunker an immediate success

The NRL bunker is proving a raging success after two games of the NRL season.

New NRL TV initiative the "NRL bunker" is proving a raging success after two games of the 2016 season.

With only a couple of decisions to make in Thursday’s opening game between the Eels and Broncos, the officials in the bunker were put to work on Friday.

First up they overruled an on-field goal-line dropout decision and awarded the Bulldogs a 20-meter restart against Manly.

The Dogs benefitted again a few minutes later when Will Hopoate was awarded a try after an acrobatic dive just before the ball bounced out.

It wasn’t all one-way traffic though, with the bunker picking up a shepherd to deny Curtis Rona Canterbury’s third try of the night.

Always opinionated and hardly ever happy, the NRL’s twitter following certainly enjoyed the bunker’s offering.

This is a fair point though…

And some people will just never be happy…
