Jason Pierre-Paul also missing part of his thumb, report says

Turns out Giants pass rusher Jason Pierre-Paul is missing part of his thumb, as well.

It doesn't look like Giants pass rusher Jason Pierre-Paul will be returning to football in the near future.

In addition to the amputated right index finger as a result of a fireworks accident, ESPN reported Pierre-Paul is missing "a portion of his thumb." ESPN previously reported a few days ago that JPP was missing a portion of one of his other fingers on his right hand, and now we know which one.

The first report also indicated JPP will likely miss the season with this injury.

All of this occurred over July 4th weekend. JPP also suffered a fractured thumb and required skin grafts from the unfortunate event.

Pierre-Paul was taken to a hospital and had surgery to amputate his finger. He didn't contact the Giants for a long time, and now it's understandable why. He did end up meeting with the team before the start of the season to take a physical

The Giants must not have liked what they saw, because he's still not on the field. Pierre-Paul is on the Giants' reserve/franchise list, and does not count against the 53-man roster.
